POTENTIAL FLOOD ISSUES IN KILLARNEY!
The latest weather forecast is for the Municipality to be covered by a major Colorado low beginning late Friday through to Monday.
The forecast is to expect between 30 mm to 60 mm with winds from the south. It is anticipated although not certain the larger amount will fall in the municipality.
Ward 1:
We may experience some localized flooding and large inflows into the sewer system. We want to keep an eye on the channel water level, particularly if the wind direction moves from the south to the west.
Ward 2
The river will start to rise, and the rain in conjunction with the increased flow from the east, will reach flood levels by mid week next week. It is difficult to forecast the river's increase but it most likely will be between 2 and 3 feet , if the forecast of 60 mm is accurate. While significant , damage if any, should be minimal to municipal or private infrastructure.
Monday will be the next update.
